Mere Mortals Training Calander
 

You may join Tri Gulf Coast at any of the training sessions. You may join in the Mere Mortals training at any session.

This schedule is a suggested training guideline for someone new to triathlon. Anyone starting a training program should consult with their physician and heed the physician's advice. Many new triathletes come to triathlon with a strong background in running, biking, or swimming already. For those people, the workouts in your "strong" discipline will probably be much less strenuous than the workouts you already do. In general you should be able to swim 200 yards, bike 10 miles, and run or run/walk 2 miles. You do not need to be able to do these back to back! We'll help you get ready for that part. The weekday sections of this workout are suggested workout for you to do on your own, the Sunday Mere Mortals workouts are done as a group. All schedules are subject to change.

We meet on Sunday Mornings at 6:30 am from July 17th- through September 30th. Our typical meeting will include a training discussion or demonstration session aimed to help the novice and experienced athletes. These discussions are usually for about 30 minutes each. It is our goal to start the physical part of the meeting by 7:00 a.m. Note scheduled Sundays off below.

The information below covers the Sunday workouts and discussions.

Note: Mere Mortals is open to all current club members. See 'Join the Club' link on the left to join Tri Gulf Coast. All participants must have a bright colored swim cap to swim and must wear a helmet on rides.

Workout Rules
1. You must enjoy your workout
2. Mere Mortals is a training group by TriGulfCoast for it’s members, you must join the club.
3. You must wear a helmet on all bike rides
4. You must follow USAT rules (no drafting, no earphones, etc)
5. Rules of the road must be followed on the bike and when running.
6. Non-swimmers MUST inform the clinic coach of swimming ability before getting into the water.
7. TGC members must sign in prior to beginning the workout
8. Friends are welcomed. They must sign in and follow the rules and join the club.
